Sorry that the blogs have slowed up a bit, but I've been busy. Tonight is the last night of the East Coast tour and it has been are really good tour. Carnarvan Gorge was really lovely and quite a good hike, about 14k. I went running at the campsite there with kangaroos just feet away from me. The night was good as we had a camp fire, Nipples got on the guitar and we enjoyed a bit of a sing along. Then we went off to Croombit Cattle Station, about an 8 hour drive from the Gorge. The cattle station was our home for two nights and boy did we have fun. We did clay pigeon shooting to kick things off. I have never been able to do this and now I know why, apparently I'm left handed when it comes to shooting and was amazed that I actually managed to hit 2 of my 5 shots. First night was spent in the bar and trying our hand on the mechanical bull... I had great expectations for this what with my horse riding youth. There are pictures of me on the bull just before it stated up then quite literally, less then a second later the bull was bare!!! The faceplant I did was on a par with the one I did sandboarding in Namibia, great fun tho. The next day we went on a cattle muster. The horses were brilliant. I was on Bonny who was so keen and wanted to lead the pack. It was very eventful. One of the instructors horses had a bit of a hissy fit and bucked her off injuring her quite badly, then two of our group nearly fainted and had to be bused back. The ride was good though and I really enjoyed it.
After lunch we tried our hand at boomerang throwing which was hillarious. I'm not too bad at this but some of us actually got it to return and catch it!! Then we were in the pen lassooing goats in teams of three, lassooing, catching and mock branding against the clock... brilliant fun.. Really loved the time here. Felt like I had been a cowboy for a few days.

Yvonne Nipples!!!!! What a strange name - yep I have tried a bit of clay pigeon shooting - not particularly good at it. Wow - folks fainting, bucked off horses all sounds brilliant!!!! Not so sure I would like to brand poor little goaties tho'! The bronco sounded good - not one to do if you are a bit stiff around the back. Eddie's comment to me was "Anne will find life a bit dull after all this"!!!! Keep on enjoying yourself! Love Yvonne
