Arrived safely in Cairns. No so humid here but still a decent 28-30 degrees. Darwin was... er...interesting I think is best way to describe it. Cairns is probably trendier, full of beautiful people. Went for a run along the esplanade this evening along with half of Australia it seemed. Water stations all along the way with fitness centres dotted about too (weight training apperatus like things). Hostel not too good so have decided to stay out as much as possible for the two nights I;m there so, spending tomorrow white water rafting down the Tully River ... yee ha!! Then should have no problem sleeping before starting last Australian tour on Wednesday, Cairns to Sydney down the coastal route. The following link should hopefully take you to the rafting pictures from the Zambiezi in Africa. Great picutres....http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=243824&id=502718240&page=7 looking forward to having another go!
Keep in touch everyone xxx

Andy Parks Hi Ann! Great to hear you are having a great time.hI Can you fit any diving in on the Barrier Reef whHiilst in C airns? Probably a bit nicer / clearer / whole lot better in every way than Gun Wharf Quays! Hi Andy. I had one spare day in Cairns and it was a toss up between white water rafting and Diving. Rafting won on the grounds that hopfully I can dive later in the tour - big dilemma though. I was in Darwin for 2 days and, even though it is supposed to be the most dangerously populated waters, I did try to find somewhere to dive (you have to visit Darwin to understand why I would be driven to do that) but all the dive centres have closed down due to the bad reputation of the waters!!! Hey, I was up for it though!! Cairns on the other hand is full of dive centres with amazing photos so I really do hope I get a chance to take advantage of these parts ... if not there is always Fiji ;)
Ann Carty Hello - no lack of running company in Cairns then!! I hope you made use of all the gym bits too?!Have fun with the white water rafting in your 28-30 degrees of lovely sunshine. We don't mind the now, dark evenings (clocks went back this weekend) winds, rain and occassional sunny periods! Although it may apparently reach 18 degrees later this week - or so thay say!Enjoy your "last leg" and have fun in Sydney when you get there.Ann x Hi Ann, didn't take advantage of the gym bits ... not that confident yet. Rafting was great fun today and looking forward to the next tour which starts tomorrow. Say hello to the Ranges for me. Take Care x
Lesley Hi Ann,As usual you are making the most of things and giving it 110% - it sounds great fun. We missed you at the first cross country on Sunday, how awful for you to be in the sunshine and hot weather when we are dark, windy and rain. Keep having fun and keep up the blog. x x Hi Lesley. Nice to know I've been missed, if only on cold wet windy cross country days. I try not to complain about the heat here but it's not always easy :) .... great to hear from you. Hope you're still enjoying Wednesday nights xx
jen Job hunting is sh*t my advice never come back! Only positives are your not hot and sweaty everyday and you get your own bed to sleep in:-) haha. oh yeah and you can enjoy a drink in a cosy pub with a coal fire:-) Hmmm... I've always had my own bed to sleep in, just not always my own room ... and the cosy pubs can wait :) It is all going so quickly, I know I'll be back before i know it so really trying to make the most of it. Good luck with the jobs, playground things sounds good. Take care xx
