So yesterday was my first full day in HK and it started at 4am. I slept at 1 and when i woke up i felt i slept for hours only to find that i only slept for 2 hours. I tried to force myself to sleep but got up again at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep. Hope i get use to the hours soon.
I wasn't meeting John till 12:30 for lunch so i walked around the area. The city is so cool. People hustling and bustling around every street corner going about their daily business and traffic that seems chaotic but is actually more organized than Toronto traffic lol. Such a great city. I found this nice little shop for breakfast. Asia in general creates things that make their lives easier so imagine my suprise when i see the glass door and assume it's automatic and slam right into it lol....embarassing FAIL. I took a picture of the little sign that says push button to open....really? out of all the things to make manual you choose a sliding door???? Breakfast is definately different. A lot of maccoroni egg and soup, but i didnt' get that.
Met up with John for lunch at Central Plaza with some of the RBC ISAL folks. Really nice putting faces to names we work with. We proceeded to our other offices at Cheung Kong Centre to see my old boss Ben and some other folks i've dealt with. The work culture here is so much different as they work long hours.
We went to a roof top bar called Sevva and it's view as so amazing. After my 3rd beer the time changed started to hit me so it was off for a quick bite to get before home. But before we went home we quickly checked out LKF and Soho which is the ex-pat area....beautiful area. In soho the have the series of escalators which is known as "The Escalator"...i know they're creative here lol. It's the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world. The entire system covers over 800 metres in distance and elevates over 135 metres from bottom to top...it's crazy
Check out the photos i've taken so far. Not a lot and not good quality cause it's on my old 3G but today we are going to Macau and i'm bringing my Nikon so look out for those pictures.
