Well Rome...it's been fun!! Here are some things we learnt during our stay:
*Italians are super nice people
*metro is the way to get around here, usually super packed so you have to push your way on
*Italians are crazy drivers, if you plan on driving here rent the smallest car possible or a scooter/motorcycle
*crosswalks...no one pays attention...you can stand there and wait for people to stop but they never will...just close your eyes and walk out to cross and hope for the best, lol!
*Lots of people ask you for money, but they are clean, well dressed and usually have shopping bags next to them...you don't feel sorry for saying no
*they do close shops for lunch, no scheduled time...when they are hungry they close shop to go out to eat...which is for a few hours minimum
*they enjoy their wine at every opportunity...and so did we;) and they do drink a bottle on their lunch breaks! Hmmm....I think we'd enjoy work better and the people more If we incorporated that to Canada lol
*they eat dinner late, around 830pm
*they think 30 degrees is cool and are wearing jeans and some wear sweaters! We walked around in tees and shorts and sweat protruded off out bodies like a fountain!
*if you ask for the bill, expect to wait a minimum of 20 minutes, unless you speak Italian and are firm they will bring it right away
