Well, we made it to Venezia yesterday afternoon! It's such a beautiful place! We walked out of the train station and were looking right at the Grande Canal! Tons of boat taxis, gondolas, just amazing to look at! It's weird seeing boats as cars but when you are walking down the streets you really appreciate not hearing car alarms/horns/traffic.
We got out our map right away to try and find our hotel...a lot of help that did us! Every street turns into another one and there are dead end alleys everywhere! So needless to say we started off our adventure in the most romantic city in the world, fighting! Lol
It didn't help that our hotel sign was about the size of a license plate either like really people?! How do you expect anyone to find you with a sign so small?
But we made it and our room is nice and cozy, no shower curtain is the only weird thing. Oh and there's only 48 steep stairs up to our room, no big deal lol!
We ventured off and had lunch and decided to walk around, rob didn't think we needed a map...so we now have 3 Venice maps needless to say;)
We ended up finding the Rialto Bridge, thought it would be more than what it was. Just a bridge with tons of shops on it! Super busy as well, tons of people and the narrow walkways don't help;) but the majestic views of the waterways and streets and cobblestones and gondolas are surely breathtaking! Amazing city!
