Hey everyone! Hope you are doing well! We had another great day here in Rome!! It's so hot here, I'm not one to complain about heat but boy, not sure I could live in this sweaty heat everyday! Unless I had a pool of course;)
We woke up a little hung over from a wine party we had on the balcony, lol! Rob, me and a few bottles of wine~
We were off bright and early to the smallest country in the world, a 44 hectare country called Vatican City!
Super neat to see! Couldn't believe the line up to get in...we literally passed a line up of probably 1000 people (we bought tickets online). They say 20000 people a day go through there, it's super packed! We saw the Basilica, Sistine Chapel ( amazing! ), where the pope lived, just amazing statues, tapestry and paintings! It's crazy how detailed all the work was, such skill!!
We saw a dead pope too..very weird!
For supper we got some takeout and brought it back to the balcony;) it's so different here, their take out is tons of places that sell all kinds of pizzas, pastas and salads, all made in house and they can reheat it for you too! Super yummy homemade items and back home we have kfc, tacobell, etc..so many incomparable take out chains:(
Another highlight was seeing the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain all lit up at night~ very pretty! It's hard to appreciate such master pieces though when 1000s of others are trying to do the same!
We ended our day with some more gelato;)
Hope everyone back home is having a great week!! Xoxo
