Finally today is day that we have been waiting for! Yes it's Great Barrier Reef. We need to leave our hostel at around 8ish and catch the ferry at 8.30ish. So we got up at 7ish to get everything ready, put our gears in bags, snacks etc. The weather is already looking good. It was no problem getting to the dock. We got on the boat and got a good seat with specular views, we collected our snorkelling gears as it was included on our ticket. We saw the island from miles away and got closer every minutes. The women who works on the boat called Ashleigh told us that today's weather is the best in the past three weeks! The scene is so different when we saw the reefs through the water, it was so clean and relaxing. As we made each other promise to walk around the island completely. We made start and walked, saw lots of things, it all mixture of ruin and paradise. We noticed some part of the beach on the green island is covered on black and colours mess - it sure looks like chemical or something. We sat down and have some time under the ray. We then made start to the reefs with our snorkels. For very first time we actually swam through tropical fishes and beautiful corals! Charlene and Dominic found difficult to breath through the tube, Charlene also had an minor accident so they both head back on the beach while three of us continued on the adventure area. I can't describe how beautiful it was. The experience is just wow! We return on the beach to relax. We wanted to try out again and this time, with our waterproof camera - We took plenty of pictures! As people start to make their way to the boat, we realised that we need to head back to our boat for our departure. We arrived Cairns at around 5pm. As we wanted to barbecue our burger and sausages in Lagoon area which can be used by the public. We went to Woolworth to buy foods and cooked them outside at Lagoon. It was very relaxing experience. We then went to Woolshed Pub for couple of drink, also to celebrate Sara and Charlene's result from their college. Then we head back Hostel to get everything ready for Melbourne tomorrow.
