April's Travels
Destination five in Belize is Placencia. We have been here for four nights so far and will probably be here another night. Placencia is on a peninsula, lovely beaches with cafes and restaurant.
We've just mozied around for most of the time. The plan was to get a tan however the questionable weather has made that impossible.
Ou room is fab, it's right on the beach, a brightly yellow coloured cabin. The first night i was attacked by a cockroach, que April and Becky bug detectives. I was armed with the torch (and a book, the first one i grabbed from a shelf which so happened to be the bible) and Becky with bug spray. Of course we got him in the end which took an hour.
Last night we went out to a bar for a couple of drinks and a game of pool. The place was packed, clearly this is where everyone goes on a night out. Imagine the scene. It's midnight, the karaoke machine has been going all night, everyone's getting up. Becky and I being the two white girls making up 5% of the population in there decide to 'sing' a song. We get the last one of the night and did a rap, 50 cent's "In da Club". I was wearing a cardigan!! Oh we went down a storm. We were up until 4 this morning, we got up at 07.30am to catch a boat to Honduras only to find (once packed and having hauled luggage to the end of the peninsula) that the boat had been cancelled for a week. The plan was to learn to dive at the Bay Islands next week but it's looking very unlikely as we have limited time left before we fly back to LA. I'm pretty bummed about this, but hey, should get to do it in Fiji. We have a week left here and at present no idea what we're going to do. As we have most of our money changed into Honduran Lempira i guess there's our answer!!
Lots of love one and all. Missing you all.
