We went on a tour of Munich this morning which lasted from 11am until 4:30pm! Saw the whole of Munich in them 4 hours. Started of walking to see one of the Cathedrals, they are very religious here mainly catholic. From here we went to see the glockenspiel clock on the town hall chime at 12pm, where a little cuckoo clock popped out! The cathedral and the town hall are the only two original buildings in Munich as all the others were bombed during the war. These two buildings weren't bombed as they were 'landmarks' to identify we're Munich was by the enemy. The city was restored by Hitler to look original though. We've also found out that people here don't like being called Germans. They say Bavarian because its Bavaria not Germany. Lunch was at a stand selling bratweis sausages which were tasty, pudding was a sweet nutty pastry in the Market. We also tried a shot of raspberry schnapps along the way. The bopbrauhaus was the next point of call which is a beer hall. Its a very famous beer hall as this was where hitler gave his first speech and its now known as the birth place of the nazi party. The guide did a really good job of explaining the history to us and we learnt a lot. Munich has the most police officers in the country than anywhere else in Europe. They will fine and tax you for anything. Fines are for litter, crossing the road if the signal is red even if there are no cars. They will tax you for being religious, having a dog and owning a tv or radio. It's an expensive place to live so the population is older and the people are richer. The cost of property is 5 times what it is in the capital of Berlin. We are off to a beer haul for dinner now! Guten Abend!
