Got up, had breakfast and decided we wanted to hire bicycles for the day and go around the island! There is no other form of transport here except horse! Love it! Apart from the horse poo everywhere but they have bags attached to the carriage that catches it most of the time! Ewww
So, hiring bikes cost us 40000 Rupiah (£2.80) each for the day! I requested one with a basket as it looks so cute!
Remembered I don't know how to ride a bike and havnt tried since cycling previsioncy in year 6, over 8 years ago. God I'm old! They say you don't forget how to ride a bike, well you do. I was all over the place! Michael was the same though! I don't think these island boys had ever seen such a scene!
Got the hang of it after 5 near death experiences involving horses, Germans and a rabbit. Stopped off at a beach club that had wooden huts, beach beds and shelters! Bought an iced lemon tea for 15000 Rupiah (£1.10) and we got to use the facilities for free! Tanning o'clock!! I dont want to be paste white anymore!
After an hour we carried on as we wanted to circle the island! It took us two hours! Gili Trawangan ia the biggest Gili island and is so beautiful! Some of the resorts are amazing and absolutely stunning! Beach front hut, infinity pool, polite staff, luxury facilities and much more! It's like a honeymoon island in some parts! Then I drive past, falling off my bike, shouting at Michael for spraying sand in my face and being overtaken by a 7 year old ginger kid giving me the V's! Just what I require in life!
Stopped for a photo shoot half way around, obviously, one of them is my blog title picture! Where is Tyra!!
Got stuck in the sand about 67 times, parts of the island, well most of it don't have roads just a track and cycling through dry sand is the hardest thing ever!! People overtook us by walking! Awkward!!
Passed a sign for 'plucking good chicken' I don't think Michael needs anymore plucking clucking chicken in his life though. Sometimes things like this ruin this beautiful island!
Decided half way around we maybe shouldn't be doing this in the mid-day sun! It was boiling hot!! At least I'm tanning though! I need to be a different nationality upon my return!
Cycled all the way round then back to a place near where we stopped before as it has the best beach, had Gado Gado and an iced tea while writing blogs under our private water side hut! It's a hard life! But I'm finally up to date after 5 and a half months! I'm proud!!
Went to give the bikes back at 6, just as I was getting used to it! Went back to the room, watched Rio which I have never seen before! It's the best film ever! I want a bird and to go to Carnival!
Went to Ocean 2 again for tea, purely for the wifi not the rapey staff! Skyped mum and sorted out my bank issues! Had fried noodles again! I think we are turning into noodle! The staff decided to sandwich me in a big hug which I told them was inappropriate but Michael found hilarious!
Got home, watched Hunger Games which me and Michael saw in England at the cinema and now we have watched it on a pirate DVD on gili islands! Strange!
Blathered ourselves in aftersun then slept like babies!
