Had breakfast and went to get a ticket for the boat to Lombok. We got the local fishing boat there as it costs 10000 Rupiah (£0.70p) for the 45 minute boat!
Waited on the beach for half an hour till they sold more tickets to fill the boat then set off! It's a normal wooden boat with seats on the edge looking in and in the middle was all sorts of things they were transferring from island to island like boxes, gas bottles, alcohol, washing machines and tyres!
There wasn't a single life jacket but don't worry, if we sink I'll cling onto the washing machine to save my life! The boat took 45 minutes to get to Pemenang at the top of Lombok!
Got off and got bombarded with people trying to give us transport, there is transport here unlike Gili T. We wanted to hire a moped and drive around the island and everyone tried to rip us off!
Everyone offered to give me transport for free but Michael would have to pay which he was not happy about! Still, I didn't leave my common sense on the boat so unfortunately I couldn't accept! Someone even offered me a horse! For free!!!
Finally after 45 minutes of blood sweat and tears we got a moped for the day for 50000 Rupiah (£3.50). We shared one as it was cheaper and Michael drove as I didn't want to. Even though I passed my driving test first time and Michael has failed 5 times! Haha bless him!
They only gave us one helmet and when we asked for two they said no! Ohwell it's our second time on a moped so we are practically experts on these dirt roads!
Got on and we didn't know how to turn the smegging thing on!! Great! After pretending we are super cool all that time! The guy had to show us and we blamed it on the moped! After this we sped away leaving the guy in dust while we were both shaking with fear! We will never make it back alive!
So the guys had told us it was a straight road all the way to monkey forest which we came to see! We were going to spend one night and two days here but there isn't much to do, we have seen beaches, temples and forests before but I'm glad we went to say we have been and seen it. The beach didn't look nice anyway!
So this straight road turned out to go all the way up and back down a mountain! Just what we need! My life was flashing before my eyes! We got halfway up and were surrounded by monkeys who clearly knew we were tourists and inexperienced so they decided to play 'knock down the white people'.
We stopped for pictures with them, there were so many wild moneys! I loved it until one went for my iPhone! Carried on up and got stuck in a traffic jam because of road works, lorries kicking out black smoke and cars with 28 people and a fridge-freezer in rolling backwards down the hill. All while the road crumbles off a cliff at one side and goes into a ditch at the other!
Stopped to ask for directions from a stall and we found out we were somewhere in Indonesia. Great. After a while of seeing monkey forest, local houses and other wildlife we turned back before we got to the main city! There was a lot more traffic and it had started to rain! Driving back on precipitation mountain at suicide o'clock was not what I wanted from life but it had to be done!
Made it back alive, I have no idea how! Stopped the moped near some other guys and the guy that owned it went a bit mental as he thought we were giving it to someone else! Do I look like an idiot... Don't answer that!
Waited for the boat back to Gili T, it started raining and was windy on the way back and the boat rocked from side to side far to much! At least there was one life jacket on this boat though, to share between 30 people!
Got back and went to Delita Cafe that we went to on the first day! Had a seafood wrap that was the worst thing I have ever tasted in my 20 years of life! I asked for no squid and it was ONLY squid! I'm not usually fussy when they put meat in, I just pick it out but I didn't eat it.
Got home, worked out money for Indonesia so far, we can never be bothered to sort money out so we write down in our phones who pays for what and sort it out later!
Went for a drink basically just to get wifi and we checked it worked before we ordered! I know it's extreme but it never works on islands and they just put the sign up to get you in. Even when they do have it, it rarely works!
Andi called us to say he has booked a flight for the three of us on Sunday from Bali to Jogjakarta which is a city in Java and we are paying him back when we return to Bali!
The wifi stopped working so at about 7 we went to eat at a different restaurant called Ocean 2 that did have wifi! As usual the guy tried to buy me which Michael is unusually fine with!
Had noodle soup but no where will do as good noodle soup as Cambodia and Laos! Ever! Booked a flight from Jakarta to Bangkok on Friday the 12th of October.
My bank blocked me for the forth time! Dreaded telling mother so left her to sleep peacefully! It's always a stressful time when unblocking my bank!
Got home at like 10 after 4 hours of trying to book flights! Hate it! We are hiring bicycles tomorrow and cycling around Gili Trawangan! I can't wait, this island is perfect!
