Got up at 9.30, had breakfast and walked to the meeting point of our snorkelling trip! Got talking to a 31 year old French girl that was frightened as she couldn't swim but they gave her a life jacket!
The boat set off at 11, there was about 50 people on one big wooden glass bottom boat and 5 guides. There was 3 life jackets! This is Asia!!
We just got a mask and snorkel as you had to pay more for flippers and we didn't think we needed them!
We were supposed to stop at a ship wreck first but as the winds were high we couldn't apparently. We stopped at the corner of Gili T where there is so much coral! Jumped in off the side of the boat, put the mask on and set off. You didn't even need the mask as the water is like tap water. Perfectly clear you can see for 30m apparently! I'm not counting though!
Michael always goes on about coral and snorkelling but to be honest I've never seen anything like this! It was amazing! So many colours and different shaped formations! The fish were beautiful as well! We kept quoting Finding Nemo!
Got back on the boat. We hated every single person apart from one on the boat. Everyone. Absolute idiots! Holiday makers wearing full make up, re applying and doing there hair, complaining to the guides, b****y little girls, gobby old women, stupid lads and much more! Please drown.
Stopped off at turtle bay next, I think this was on the middle Gili. All 50 of us had to follow one guide who searched for them! It worked though. All except for the 2849.39 flippers that slapped me in the face! I mean really, if these morons need flippers at least learn how to use them!
Saw 7 turtles! I love them! So cute! Munching on all the seaweed and swimming around! One of them was in a couple and we followed him all the way to find his girlfriend! It was so romantic! Michael said one turtle shook his hand but I'm yet to find evidence for this!
Got back on the boat and drove to Gili Air, the guide asked if we wanted to snorkel here first or eat, everyone said eat so we drove to the land and all went to the same place. It was a beach front restaurant all made from wood! We ordered first as we have the brains to realise that whoever orders first gets there food first and we got b****y looks when ours came first and they had to wait 1 hour! Well make your smegging mind up then!
Sat next to a group where one girl was going on about how she couldn't stand being a backpacker. She accidentally drowned later that afternoon.
Had yellow vegetable noodles with iced tea but it started heavily raining so we ran upstairs in the tree house part.
Got back on the boat, it had stopped raining and the guide asked if everyone wanted to carry on snorkelling but everyone said no. I wanted to but wasn't going to be the only one to say so! Everyone was cold from the rain and tired from this morning!
Got home at 3.30, it was still raining so everything was soaking and huge puddles covered the whole floor which you had to wade through! Great! One way ticket to HIV central!
Got back to our villa in one piece! That is until I fell flat on my face! It's not uncommon that I fall over but on tilled stairs it absolutely killed! What didnt help was Michael falling about laughing behind me asking to take a photo! Why is nobody sympathetic to me!! Laid flat out trying to milk it until I realised Michael would not stop laughing.
Went for tea on the beach again, it's so romantic yet here I am with Michael! Haha!
They hang tea lights from the roof and on your tables. We were sat about 5 meters from the water with our feet in the sand, they have live singers and they are very good. The waiters are lovely and can't do enough for you. Perfect!
Watched Planet of the Apes and Magic Mike. Everyone hyped Magic Mike but it was rubbish, apart from the dancing of course!
