Today we visited the old ruins of Sambor Prei Kuk. We took a tuk tuk for the hour long journey there. It was a great way to travel, all the children at the side of the road or in their houses all shouting hello and waving like mad. Lovely to see, going through paddy fields and entering jungle, a very scenic route although a little bumpy in places. Our tuk tuk driver showed us the map and route of the temples and left us to it, I bought some scarfs from the local children and off we went. We spent 2 hours looking around and finding these temples which the jungle has taken back. Some are very preserved while others are just rumble. I enjoyed the afternoon, and went back to find our tuk tuk, still waiting for us. We arrived back at our hotel just before it started getting dark. He was a good driver and friendly too, he told us his younger brother is a tuk tuk driver in Siem Reap and if we wanted a driver to contact him, so we told him the bus company we are going with and the time we leave here, Col wrote his name down a piece of paper, so hopefully when we get to Siem Reap off the bus we should have a tuk tuk driver there waiting with a sign with Col's name on it for us. We leave at 10.30am tomorrow on the bus to Siem Reap, which should hopefully only take 2 hours. I have booked some accommodation already, a hostel for £5 a night for both of us, fingers crossed it all works out. The hostel has a gym on the rooftop, but I doubt I will be hitting that anytime soon, I'll wait until I get home to start doing that again! HaHa.
