Hi every one ,Callum's dad here I'm still suffering from one of the draw backs off travelling......jet lag!, it's 4:30am (2:30pm in Melbourne) and I have woken up and can't get back to sleep so I might as well add to Callum's blog.
Yesterday we left London to travel west about 3 hours to the county of Somerset . (County's are the regional government areas like our states but much smaller)
We are staying in the 'ancient' village of A ilchester were my mum, Callum's nan lives. Ancient because this village has been here for 2000 years since roman times. There is a small museum in the village with all the roman artefacts that have been dug up over the years.
from here we will hire a car and see the sights in the area. The even older site of Stonehenge is not far away,and there are a number of castles some of them are very much in ruins there the interesting ones with all the story's of battles and then there are the completely intact ones that look great but have no history because they have never been attacked !
