Sitting in a Duncan donuts listening to Russian rap and catching up with blogs and such.
Wasn't all that impressed with the Kremlin. I mean it's grand and all but just didn't seem like it was worth the price of admission. Red square was cool though and St Basil's Cathedral was great. A men's quintet was singing a cappella as I climbed the stairs towards the top. What great reverberations!
After that kind of wandered around the city on a walking tour I got out of some guidebook, eventually trying to see some of the more picturesque metro stops, which is a real challenge when there's no English subtitles.
Yesterday I went hashing. Short trail. I was an frb, along with a nine year old? Trail was short, maybe two or three miles but pretty, through some park with a lake. They had a game stop. Good way to keep the pack together. Down downs were long.
After I got home and cleaned up went to MuMu's for dinner. Blitzes and okasha, a cold potato, kvass based soup. That's fermented rye bread water. Really good, with radishes.
I forgot museums are closed Mondays so I'm going to take a boat ride.

I Fred. Are you going to go to the Bolshoi (or another) ballet?
Me Think I'm going to miss the bolshoi. And the hash interfered with Cinderella. And I'm a little cheap. 171$. But don Quixote is in Kiev. I'd like to see that.
arthur goulosh , gulag galoshes the trekker treks on..HHH don't stray too far keep your paddle dry.
PeterBrother Excelllent photos and food. Wish I could taste that soup and all those other Russian gastrointestinal pleasures, or not, as well as I can feel, because of your photos, the Dostoevsky like angst emanating from our brethren. Know what I mean? Find a good borstch recipe and post it.
Andy, author Arthur, contreras, it sounds like? Plenty of borsch recipes on line already. I do know what you mean bout the angst. The ballet in Kiev is like $25 for the best seats in the house.
