On route to kuala lumpur we stopped at Tamin Negara (the worlds oldest jungle) . Before we entered, we bought ourselves some matching exploring hats! We had to take a long boat for 3 hours up the river to reach the park entrance, we only had time to stay one night in the jungle so we booked ourselves into a hide. We got another boat that went through rapids upstream to a closer point where we could trek for an hour to reach our accommodation for the night. After a sweaty trek we arrived at our hide in the middle of the jungle. It sat 6 metres high on stilts with a open window that looked out onto a clearing in the trees. Inside were 6 wooden bunk beds with no mattresses!
We spent 6 hours staring out of the window in silence and all we saw was squirrels, a blue bird, a red bird and a rat that was stealing our food. Bare in mind this jungle was home to tigers, elephants, monkeys and lots more, but the experience was fun!
We moved on to kuala lumpur where we stayed in china town for the first night, before picking our friend Dan up from the airport and moving more central. We visited the aquarium, went up KL tower which had an amazing view of the city, and went to the famous pretonas towers, before heading back for some great hawker food on the street.
The following day we surprised Dan with our other good friend Kat who flew over from Singapore for the weekend to be with us. It was really nice to all catch up. We visited the worlds largest walk in bird avery, went for massages and got henna tattoos! The weekend flew by and on the Sunday night we went for a very missed Sunday roast dinner!
