I know it has been a while since my last update but things have not been so exciting since i last wrote - well except for the fact i am living in France (i tend to forget that little gem)!
So we have since moved to yet another house in the old town..and the new place is very, very full. It is a 4 level town house with everything we need for the family of 12 (except for an endless supply of hot water). Since the last place i wrote about we have picked up a Kiwi, a Brit, a Saffa, and a handful of aussies to add to our happy home. It is never boring in our big brother house!!
We are all still looking for work, with some being more successful than others but it is just really good to have a support system with all of us going through the same thing..And i can't help but be happy for those who get work because we are all working our butts off to get it!! Nothing has come my way to date but i know that it is only a matter of time and luck and i do know that the best is definately yet to come..
The whole process is so frustrating though..i have never had to work so hard to get a job in my life!! I am a little over the groundhog day here in Antibes. I am thinking about heading to Mallorca, Spain to do the same thing. Not only would the change of scene be so exciting but it is apparently a little cheaper to live there.
Having said that though, everyone i have spoken to has said that the boats are due back from the Caribbean right now and the jobs will be here at anytime. It has been a more productive week in terms of interviews for me than any to date and hopefully it is starting to snowball. It might even be worth hanging aroung until the Cannes film festival and the Monaco Grand Prix are over, apparently it easy to get work over these periods. As you can tell i am very torn as to what to do..suggestions will be appreciated!!!
I have spent a bit of time in Monaco, not only for the job hunt but i think i have fallen in love with the city. It is very structured and perfect and so well maintained it really appeals to me. They are getting ready for the Grand Prix so everything is a buzz of construction and anticipation. It is a city that love their cars, every second shop is car based and you lose count of the number of ferraris, porches and rolls royces zooming through the city!
Summer is not to far off, the weather is a perfect 25-28 degrees on most days and my Mediterranian tan is getting better every day.. When you put all the job hunting aside you can't help but to enjoy the lazy afternoons on the beach or the long french lunches that are becoming a part of my daily lifestyle!!
I have plenty of photos i'll share with you when i remember to bring my camera to the internet cafe and will have many more exciting stories next time i write.
Hope everthing is well and not to cold at home.
Til next time xxxxxxx
