Borneo was amazing; I fell in love...... with orangutans We stayed for two nights at the Rimba Orangutan Eco Lodge in the rainforest which has no cell reception or wifi and is only accessible by boat. It was truly a wonderful experience.
Going to watch the semi wild orangutans show up for feeding was amazing; I have some great photos :) We saw tons of monkeys, cool butterflies, a crocodile, a river lizard and birds. The smell and feel of the rainforest was truly unforgettable.
In Tanjung Puting National Park one of the feeding stations is at Camp Leakey. The camp was established in 1971 by Professor Birute Galdikas, a student of Professor Louis Leakey, together with Jane Goodall and Diane Fossey. As chance would have it Jay recognized Dr. Galdikas from a national geographic movie we watched the night before at the lodge.
The people again were helpful and accommodating. Turns out I like indonesian coffee :-)
