So... we've been a bit slack with the blog the last few days,
Once we left Ko Samui we had a long journey by bus to Phuket- a total of 11 hours which wasnt the most enjoyable experience. There was a bit of drama with the taxi driver telling us to shut up when we asked him to slow down as he was driving like a monkey on crack! (Speaking of monkeys, we held one yesterday) We had managed to get a good deal on a 5* hotel in Phuket which had a pool, air con, and included breakfast. 850 Bht (17 quid) for the night. We hired mopeds again once we arrived as this is the easiest and cheapest way to get around. So... Phuket! Where to start... a city of lights, burger kings, and lady boys. We were shocked at how busy it was and how much life there was (we expected bangkok to be like this) lots of go-go bars, markets, clubs, and cabaret women.. men?? There were alot of malls and big super markets with designer brands but we decided we would rather pay for fakes! It was very busy considering this is ment to be low season. So the next few days in Phuket we spent time at the beach and tom hired a surf board for a few hours which is harder than he thought (though all good practice for oz) we bought this laptop as we decided in the long run it could save us money :) We found a lovely coffee shop that provided free wifi that we stayed in till they kicked us out at closing time, we spent 4 hours in there and we only brought a drink each! Tom brought a nice abercrombie top and my tuk tuk top which worked a treat so if you come to bangkok then get that top and they will stop hasselling you! The beaches in phuket were more for watersports e.g. jetski's and boats, the sea was really wavy! The beach was nice but we had both had enough of the sun by now and we just wanted to chill out by the pool. We enjoyed our time in phuket but 3 days was enough for us.
After phuket we headed down south to Krabi by boat which was ok, then once we got to krabi we had to get a tail boat to railay which was a little island about 20 mins from Krabi. As we arrived Amy instantly loved this place and if we could describe it in one word it would be 'Hippy!' This chilled place was perfect for relaxing! We found a few little rasta bars which was really cool, the seats were just cushions on the floor. We found one called bamboo bar with bob marley lookalikes which played just bob marley songs, Amy loved this place as she found a 2 month old s***zu which even Tom found cute! When we got to our accomodation (If you can call it that) The outside looked nice but as soon as you open that door,*WWOOFFFF* you get hit with the heat and smell of pure pee and other substances, we tried to leave out toilet door open as it smelt better than our room. Luckily for us we were to tight to pay for A/C and only went for a fan room, which was pathetic to say the least. After we had over come the smell of our room we headed straight down the beach, which lonely planet book says is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, they were right. The water was crystal clear and really warm.
The following day Tom went exploring as the previous day he'd discovered a dirt track up to a view point and lagoon. All Tom can say is 'NOT WORTH IT'. There were 2 over hangs to get to the lagoon where all your hanging onto is a rope and if you fell you'd die, but with that said the viewpoint was something else and when he was up there he saw 3 monkeys who he is adamant were the three wise monkeys. His lacoste trainers were a murky orange colour by the time he got back and so was he!
We spent 2 nights in railay at 'yaya resort' and that was probably enough. Off to Ko Phi Phi next :)
Thanks for reading, miss you lots and love you all :) xxx
