hi all,
our last stop in thailand was koh phi phi, and probably our favourite place in thailand! it was absolutely beautiful, the beaches were gorgeous and the weather was scorching!! we did a day boat trip around lots of beautiful islands, including maya beach aka 'the beach ' where the beach was filmed!! we watched the sunset on the baot which was quite impressive! we also did lots of snorkelling and becks and rich also did two dives. i just went out on the boat and sunbathed and did some snorkelling, but they both enjoyed their dives and we all saw leopard skarks and trigger fish! the last day in phi phi we relaxed all day on the beach which was really nice! we also had a few good nights out at a few cool beach bars and watched some awesome fire shows!
we were sad to leave thailand!!
we then had a very long journey down to singapore, which consisted of boats and mini buses and coaches, leaving at 9a.m last saturday and arriving til 6 a.m the following day! and when we arrived in kl it was raining - a shock to our sun tanned systems!!
however, since then the weather has picked up and it has been hot hot hot! we've done so much here, we all really love kl! monday was rich's birthday so we dicided to go to a water/theme park called sunway lagoon. the rides werent up to much bit we had a good laugh all the same! then in the evening we all treated ourselves to a meal at hard rock cafe, which was very nice! we all love the spicy fried rice and noodles here (they are also dirt cheap) but it was nice to have some western food!
in kl we have also visited times square, gone to the largest indoor theme park in malaysia (probably the only in malaysia!!) walked across the worlds longest passenger suspension bridge, gone up the the pretonas twin towers, gone up the kl tower, visited the central market and the bato caves, a muslim place of worship which we had to climb up 272 steps to get to!!
today, our last day in kl we went to a chinese new year ceremony. theres been lots of celebrations since we've been here, espeacially as we're staying in china town! i think we were the only western people there and people kept coming up to us asking to shake our hand as and take our photos - like we a were celebrities! rich and becks even got interviewed! we also spoke to and shook hand with the prime minister of malaysia! the lion dancing and acrobatics were very impressive and we also enjoyed a free buffet - altho we soon realised that malaysians dont seem to follow any kind of queuing system!!
we leave for singapore tomoro, which we are looking forward to! rich is staying here one more day and then continuing his travels up north, so its just me and becks now!!
we are really looking forward to singapore and will get in touch asap to let you know all of our news! hope all is well back home - hayley and dad thanks for texting me the rugby score - come on wales!!!!!
love to all, amy and becks xxx
