Some random things you probably didn't know about Chile!

1. The people here are pretty darn short.

2. If you are vegetarian, they assume you still eat chicken and fish.

3. Their coffee is instant.

4. The streets and metro are extremely clean.

5. Their public transportation system is super-efficient.

6. They use the English words 'super' and 'freak' a lot.

7. Mullets, converse sneakers, and colored jeans are extremely popular. Who let loose the 80's?

8. Starbucks has taken over Santiago; there is something like 18 of them here.

9. They actually like the stray dogs and voted against having them taken off the streets.

10. The stray dogs are super picky eaters! Who would have thought!?

11. Avocado is served with practically everything!

12. Old men…young kids…doesn't matter, people here love yelling out random English words and then they giggle and run away.

13. When you wear shorts here, you get stared at like you are wearing a bikini!

14. Around 5 or more of their television stations air American programs and sitcoms in English.

15. The kids wear uniforms to school. The teenage girls like to hike 'em up to look like a miniskirt. Haha.

16. They eat dinner around 10pm or later.

17. It's official, worldwide, construction workers are the most obnoxious cat-callers ever!

18. Santiago is a very safecity. The people are very respectful and quiet. Some mornings on my bus ride to school, its completely silent.

19. It seems like everyone has an mp3 player, even Grandma.

20. The coolest clothes I have bought here so far, I bought off the sidewalk.

21. The Mexicans immigrating to the U.S. is equivalent to the Peruvians in Chile.

22. I can buy a sandwich at a store named Abril, near my school, for 35 cents.

23. 98% of people in Chile secure their WIFI! haha, bad for me!

24. They aren't big on buckling their kids up in the car.

25. There is an amazing view of the mountains from almost every place you are in the city!
