Arrived safely in London: September 18th, 6:30am GMT
Since then the days have been full of non-stop bits and bobs (or odds and ends, as I have learned) such as a harrowing hunt for the ever elusive student housing in north London, a meeting with a few others in the UCL master's program (excuse me- programme), a bombardment of only somewhat-useful orientation seminars, and an intrepid cycling trip to find a duvet and pillow!
Incomprehensible/Horrifying/Amusing headline of the week: Woman Gets Hit by Double Decker Bus- Another postgrad told me about a woman standing on the side of the street who was hit by the side mirror of a double-decker bus. Apparently the force of the impact threw her back a few feet! Luckily a member of the London police force saw the whole thing occur and was able to assist quickly...but imagine being hit by a big red bus!!!
This weekend should bring some interesting adventures- an explore of architecture and design checking out Open House London (http://www.londonopenhouse.org/index.html) and seeing the San Francisco ballet at Sadler's Wells (http://www.sadlerswells.com/show/San-Francisco-Ballet-Three-Mixed-Bills) Don't worry, I will watch out for rogue buses!!
All in all, doing well and re-acquainting myself with the city! (More updates and photos to come)
DISCLAIMER: While I hope to write as often as possible, I only promise an update (with pictures) at least once a month!
