After a struggle getting out of bed, I met the group at 8.30am for our bus ride to the Longji Rice Terraces. Sitting at the back of the bus I really wasn't feeling that well at all and neither was Lindsay. We arrived at the village about 2 hours later and we were greeted by some of the local women who were offering to carry our bags up the hill. Saying no we all continued on for our trek up the hill.
Struggling up the hill Lindsay and I were at the back of the group and had to keep on stopping to get our breath back, but it was also a great opportunity to take in the beautiful scenery. It was just amazing to see all the terraces where they grow the rice and from what we were told these terraces were hundreds of years old. It was also very cold up the mountain so we were glad when we eventually made it up the top. The guesthouse was very nice. It was set right up top of one of the mountains with great views of the village.
As it was quite cold and also starting to get dark, oh and the fact that there wasn't much to do up on the mountain, we basically just hung around the guesthouse relaxing and chilling out. We had an early dinner, watched DVD's in Chinese then called it a night. I couldn't sleep at all as I kept coughing, but eventually fell asleep in the early hours of the morning.
