Woke up feeling exhausted after getting no sleep the night before. Lindsay and I went down stairs with our gear and had some breakfast before our trek down the hill to take the local bus to the next village where we would meet the rest of the group who walked the 10km trek.
Thankfully the walk down the hill was a lot easier than the walk up. Once getting down the bottom of the hill we caught the local bus to one of the bus stops along the main road into the terraces, then waited for about half and hour before the bus came and got us.
The bus eventually arrived and we were stuck with all these Americans who did nothing but complain the whole way up the hill. Ok the driver was a little crazy when going around the hairpin turns but still I think I would be right in assuming this guy had driven up this mountain thousands of times. One lady even screamed out loud. We all took the piss out of her. It was quite funny!
We climbed up yet another mountain and yet again Lindsay and I struggled. Thankfully this time I had a room to myself at this guesthouse and this guesthouse was def a lot better than the other. After checking in I went downstairs and had a hot chocolate with the others and enjoyed yet again stunning views, but also with not much to do I went back up to my room and watched Chinese tv.
That night after dinner some of the local women who also worked at the guesthouse put on a performance for us. They performed some of the traditional dances. We even got to have a go and one dance they called the bamboo dance. We also took part in a traditional wedding ceremony. Mario and Ruth ended up getting married (Hayley was Mario's partner) and not even she wanted to marry him. It was all good fun. Afterwards we had to put on our own dance. We did the Macarena.
After this we all stayed up for one last hot chocolate then called it a night.
