Today was beginning of our Nicaraguan escapades! We travelled via van and then ferry to the island of Ometepe. It is a small island in the middle of the Nicaraguan lake with a little town and limited inhabitants. Here we stay with a local family for two nights, with only Spanish being spoken. This should be interesting. Luckily I was ended up staying in the same place as Emily, whose Spanish is good. Ometepe is beautiful. We drove in as the sun was setting and got to watch the magnificent view from the hammocks on the beach. What a hard life it is. The ladies from the island even cooked dinner for us which was delicious!
