After a 5am wake up we left Flores on our way to the Tikal ruins. We got there at about 7:30 and started the walk. We had breakfast on top of one of the Tikal grand pyramids and then set off to visit all 5 towers. They were huge and incredible. Made our way to Flores today. It was a pretty easy drive. When we got there Ellie and I discovered we had a beautiful room overlooking the lake and it was beautiful. We met with the group 30 minutes later and went for a walk around the small island. We then went on a boat ride over to the other side and walked up to a view point from which we could see the entire area and all the small islands that surrounded. Spent the day relaxing and reading while looking through the mangroves out into the river. At about 7 we went to dinner across the river, in town. Then headed back to out little sanctuary, hidden in the mangroves.

Another travel day today but this one was the one from hell. A 10 hour drive while half the bus was sick, myself included, was not a nice thing to do. We arrived at Rio Dulce at 7pm, had dinner and I want straight to bed, hoping to wake up better the next morning. The resort that we were staying at was very nice. It is little bungalows connected by wooden walkways through the mangroves on the river.

We travelled back to Antigua today from San Juan de lago. It was a long day including a boat and a private van. When we got back to Antigua we spent the afternoon relaxing and the went to dinner at the rainbow cafe. After a few mojitos we went out to a little pub and had a couple beers and walks home a little later.
