Last day in Havana today. Was a great day. Left the hostel at 9ish and walked down to old Havana. Had a nutritious breakfast of chocolate stuffed churros on the way. Walked down Obispo and sat in Plaza Viaja for a little while watching the school kids playing. Then wandered up into Plaza San Francisco and started talking to a Cuban guy who told me many things about the country and the people and the tourists. The Cubans only earn the equivalent of $12 a month in any government job. This is why so many people try and work with tourists. Then walked up to cafe Paris and had lunch while reading. Kept wandering to the pedestrian street where another Cuban guy started talking to me. After chatting for about half an hour he went for some lunch and I continued walking. Next I met a crazy Cuban artist who talked to me about how love was more important than money. Wandered along the Melacon towards the hostel and read while looking out over Havana. Then wandered back to the hostel and had many mojitos on the rooftop bar with a few Canadians, kiwis, Germans and Matilda.
