Hello again!
One week down! This past week was a little tougher than I was expecting. I realized that there are certain things that were so much more difficult than I was expecting. For example, the language barrier with the town's people is so much harder. I was slightly naive to think that they would know at least a little English, but they don't even know one word of English. Going to the super market turns into an experience every time!!! Getting around this area is a challenge too. The roads are so much different than back at home… they are more like tiny alley ways that go every direction. The schooling is so much different too. Right now I am in an Italian class, but it does not last the entire semester… to be honest I am not sure how long it will last, but not until the end of May. Also, when my classes start (Feb. 23rd) some may last until the end of May, but others may go only until April. I am still in the state of confusion with everything going on here. I am enjoying my stay; there are those ups and downs with being in a brand new… country! The other students are really nice. They all speak English, which is a nice break! Not everyone's English is perfect, but eventually you figure out what they are saying! The sun is finally starting to shine here, so that means we get to take more trips! I am so ready to get out of Castellanza, since it is such a small town.
On Friday we went to a club in Milan, which to me seemed like a normal American club, but a lot of the other international students who were here last semester said this club wasn't that good! Other than that, things are a little boring around here, but I am sure it will all start picking up soon! I love all the messages that everyone is leaving… I love hearing from home!!! I miss you all so very much and love you!
Ciao, Alison
