Wow it has been a while since I have updated you all about my life! Well 2 weeks ago all the international student went to Venice, Verona, and Sirmione (you might have already seen the pictures… if not check them out!). We left for Venice on Saturday morning (veryyyy early) and when we got there we took a ferry to the island. Immediately some of us went to Murano, the famous island where they make all the Venetian glass. We were able to see how they make vases and a horse figurine… it was pretty neat. Then we had free time for a bit so my new friend from the UK, Natalie, Audrey and myself toured the main touristy areas. We went to the top of a Bell tower and were able to see all of Venice and we went inside the San Marco Basilica which is unexplainable… you have to look at the pictures and even that doesn't do it justice. The entire ceiling is made out of gold and is all mosaic… you aren't supposed to take pictures inside therefore I could only get that one ;o). Then we went for our delicious 10 euro hot chocolate! It really was the most amazing hot chocolate ever… just a little pricey!
The next day we went to Verona… we didn't get to stay there too long, but we were able to see the main tourist sites. Of course we went to Romeo and Juliet's house and saw the balcony where she called for Romeo! We then moved onto another Bell tower in Verona… weirdly enough it looked just like Venice from the top!!!
We then moved on to Sirmione, which is on Lake Guarda… sadly it was rainy and extremely foggy so we couldn't really see anything. We went to a castle, but there wasn't much there. So in a short and sweet explanation… that was my trip to Venice… I think the pictures tell a better story!
Let's see, life in Castellanza is going well. Classes are starting up now, so I am keeping busy with that. I am currently taking the hardest class at LIUC… no joke, numerous students and the teacher said so, and as of right now I would have to agree! It's a finance based course and it is toughhhhhh! I am now taking aerobics classes… and can't walk! This weekend Audrey and I are heading to Amsterdam for some good clean fun! I miss everyone at home so very, very, very much and hope you all are doing just as well as I am ;o)
