Bonjour!
Today Carlos slept till 10am!! Outrageous! We had to do some washing so found a laundromat, which was interesting to figure out when everything is in French.
While it was washing we wandered around a bit and went to a cafe and sat outside in the sun and I ordered a croque Madame and Carlos a croque Monsieur. Seriously most AMAZING sandwich I have ever had, accompanied by the best coffee yet, Paris, you are slowly winning my heart..
We lazed a bit today but then headed off to go to the Notre Dame Cathedral as it's literally a 5 min walk away, and wow, it's magnificent. Set on the Seine and it's just beautiful. So huge and amazing. You're allowed to take photos in there so I have some to show (all on the camera though). After we went for a stroll along the Seine, and wow, Paris you have actually won my heart.. Finally!
I have decided that I think I need the quiet stroll time to appreciate things. Near one of the bridges there was a man playing an accordion and it set the scene perfectly. We walked back to the hotel along some back streets and stopped for some crepes and coffee.. Crepes were delish. Paris is really one of those places you can just sit and watch, and take in the beauty. Despite a lot of people saying the French are rude, we have had nothing but pleasant experiences with all people we've had to talk to. MUCH nicer than London. In saying that, we are trying harder to incorporate some minimal French. We're about to get ready and go for a dinner boat cruise along the seine... Au revoir!
I loooooooove Paris! Just so you all know. It has my heart. Forever. We went on the cruise and it was soooo lovely. Amazing food, and good company of course ; )
The only annoying thing is that it wasn't dark because I think it would be all the more spectacular, which is Carlos fault, but anyway, travelling along the Seine drinking wine and eating food is actually pretty spectacular. After the cruise, we walked back to the hotel, but Carlos was so busting we stopped at a bar, and had some drinks, and the place was so cool and amazing, we got to sit outside, while the soccer played and had a few drinks, and some olives and peanuts. Life really doesn't get much better than this. Paris, je t'aime xxxx
Side note: we figured out how to turn the TV into Anglais!!! Haaaaaapppppy days! The sloths are in Parisian heaven!!!! : D
