Today is Paris day!!
We got up, caught a tram to the main train station in Amsterdam to catch the Thalys train to Paris. At the station we got some frites Sonya! There is a photo for you!! Sooo yum!
The train is nice and spacious (much more than a plane) and we get free wifi the whole time! I soooo win my no planes argument with Carlos.
We arrive after a pleasant train ride (speeds of up to 199 miles) crazy!
We get off the train and oh.my.god. its intense!! To try and find what train we have to catch to our hotel took us about 40 minutes. It was horrible! There are people everywhere and nothing is in English!! We finally worked it out, but the whole station stinks of pee and it was packed like the worse day ever in Melbourne and trying to get on with huge suitcases certainly doesn't help. Carlos almost had the doors close on him and I had to drag and force him on :( when we got off the train we couldn't even work out how to get out of the train station!! We now know sortie means exit and will keep that in mind haha. Walked to our hotel and it's teeny tiny. I'll try take a photo in the lift we have to catch! It's bizarrely small. The hotel concierge is lovely but kept saying even while talking to us in English merci. Should we be saying that instead of thank you Sonya? Should we say bonjour etc? So far my experience of Paris is awful we both were totally overwhelmed so let's hope sites cheer us up! We are about half an hour away from the Eiffel Tower but kinda close to the louvre and Saint-Chapelle.
The TV does not have any English channels either :(
Oh and I left our universal plug in Amsterdam! Boo to me!!
For dinner we went to a supermarket because we're now trying to reign in our cash spending and bought heaps of food for the next four days. We went and had dinner and a stroll at Jardin du Luxembourg, it's really beautiful there and there are seats to just have a chill and look around. Not much to report as we're heading out to do the major stuff tomorrow. Euro Disney is about 7 hours away. What the hell? I wanted to go there! But Google maps can't even route us there via public transport... No Disney for me :(
PS. Google maps has some crazy thing where when you are within 2kms of something there are these Pokemon creatures that come up and you catch them! Haha kept Carlos and I very entertained trying to find them! See photos attached...
