Hello!

Yesterday we went to the beach around 4pm just to read etc before the mindil beach markets. except we fell asleep and woke up at about 6pm to find hundreds more people sitting around us!

Pretty much everyone was there for food from the markets and to watch the sunset, which was so beautiful. The sun set right in front of us across the horizon, really gorgeous. We had a wander around the markets where there was also music playing and various stalls selling everything from didjeridos to clothes/jewelry. There were so many types of food from all over Australia and Asia it was incredible, the smell was so intense but really really good. If I could somehow record the smell and share it with you all I would!!

We each tried lots of things, first we tried the most delicious spring rolls ever, then calamari and then kangaroo and crocodile! Kangaroo was a little bitter but the Crocodile was lovely! No lie it actually tasted like chicken! You could buy everything and anything... was definitely the highlight of the trip so far...

We then got the bus back to the hostel and then I just fell asleep stupidly early again and have been awake since 5am! Suffice to say our planned night out didn't happen, although tonight really is my last night in Darwin so I'm hoping to stay awake a little later!
