alice's adventures
We arrived at the Argentine side of the border at around 8 am. We then had to walk to the border post, go through, and walk to the bus station in the Bolivian border town of Villazon. From there we caught a bus to Tupiza, about three hours away. Tupiza is a real cowboy town. Surrounded on all sides by canyons and cactuses, the people wear traditional Bolivian clothing and ride horses bareback. We took a jeep tour into the surrounding countryside, from where we had the most amazing views of the various multicoloured rock formations. Apart from this, however, there´s not a lot to do in Tupiza, so that night I caught the train to Uyuni, four hours away, to head into the Salt Flats.
