My last stop in Bolivia was Copacabana, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. We arrived on the bus at about 7pm and checked into a hostel, before heading out for dinner in another town which exists almost entirely for the tourist trade. The following morning I got up early to catch the 8 am bus to Isla del Sol, the Inca creation site. The boat dropped us off at ten at the north end of the island, and from then it was a four to five hour hike down to the south end to catch the boat back. The island itself is beautiful, starting off on a gorgeous sandy beach, before heading off up drastic hills, at all times surrounded by the beautiful blue waters of Lake Titicaca with the snow capped Andean mountains visible in the distance passing numerous ruined Inca sites along the way. At three we caught the bus back to Copacabana, arriving at five thirty and spending the rest of the evening exploring the markets before heading back to our freezing cold hostel. The following morning I wandered by the cathedral in the town at ten thirty, in time to see the daily blessing of automobiles- where cars are scattered with rose petals and holy water, and firecrackers are thrown in the street. Then I caught a bus to Puno, a town on the Peruvian side of the lake and after six weeks finally left Bolivia!
