I arrived in La Paz early in the morning, and headed to the hostel (chosen this time because it offered a free pancake breakfast!) After having a much needed shower, after the 20 hour bus journey, I set off into the town. La Paz is a really beautiful city, in parts, although it felt like wherever you wanted to go was uphill from where you were- and the hills here are steep! Anyway, I spent the day wandering around, visiting various churches, markets and the mirador, which offered amazing views of the snow capped mountains which surround the city. The definate highlight was finding an English cafe bar (Oliver´s Travels) which served PG Tips (Oliver´s mum sends it from Britain ever week). Not only that, but they serve the tea by the pint! That night we headed back to the hostel, where they were preparing a barbeque for everyone, and spent the evening sitting in the rooftop bar, which had the most amazing views of the the city-covered hills all around, covered in lights twinkling in the darkness. The following day was much the same- mostly spent shopping in the markets, before catching a bus up to Rurrenabaque in the Amazon Basin.
