Nha Trang,
After another freezing sleeper bus we arrived in Nha Trang. Dropped at the side of the road in the centre, we decided to walk to the beach to find accomadation. We stumbled upon a lovely hotel near the front, with views of the beach and the city from the balcony on the 10th floor. Unfortunately, we later found out that the hotel closes its doors at 23.00, this not being a problem unless you plan to attend a beach party. Luckily, with the help of a local, we managed to get in, Hurrah!
The city has a buzzing atmosphere and is well suited to backpackers, with cheap food, accomadation and lots to see and do. We managed to rack up a few good hours on the beach during our stay, making the most of the sun and waves. One of the standard trips offered from the many tourist informations, is the day booze cruise. Under the premis of visiting an island and snorkling, groups of young travellers board a boat and get plastered. Needing no excuse, Dani, Ben, Alice and myself jumped at the chance. The sea was lovely, complete with floating bar (man in rubber ring handing out shots) I can't remember seeing any fish but we all drank heartily and enjoyed ourselfs a great deal....
Feeling the need for recouperation the day after, we made our way to the hot springs just outside of town. We wallowed in mud, basked in the mineral baths and took a dip in the hot spring pool (a sweltering 40 degrees!). Feeling refreshed, we felt up to the challange of another sleeper bus - Munie, here we come.....
