We arrived in the sunny Valencia 3 hours after hopping on our bus about bus. Nearly everyone on the bus was an Aussie which was a nice change. Our hostel called purple nest is so unbelievably nice. We're staying in a 4 bunk room and there is no fourth person which makes it easier to have your clothes strewn all over the floor. Once we had settled in, we straight away went to the beach once again. We all needed something to eat but all the shops were closed and it was only 2 30pm! it was like walking through a ghost town, just the three of us. Later on we found out that in Valencia the people have siestas from about 1-5 every day! Anyway, the water was surprisingly warm at the beach. It was like a nice warm bath. There was a professional volley ball arena set up on te beach, and I have to say that Spaniards love their volleyball as there is always a group of people playing it. There were also little markets set up all alongside the beach we had a look at, but decided to go back another time. After dinner at the hostel, we decided to try Valencia's pub crawl. We were downstairs and ready by twelve o'clock, but to our surprise it didn't actually start until 1 30. It cost 10 euros and we got two free drinks at the hostel and one on arrival to every bar we visited. We met a nice American guy called Steve who was studying Spanish. He hung out with us all night , and it helped he could speak Spanish, especially when coming home. My favourite place had a really big dance floor that was dark except for the strobe lights. I had a great night and met so many Australians! Europe seems to be crawling with them. I'm about to fall asleep while typing, but yes we are thinking of hiring bikes soon and visiting the modern architecture in the new city of Valencia. Im also really keen for the planetarium and the aquarium. We've got 4 nights here so we thought we'd start it off by going out. Stay posted, xoxo Alice
