I woke up to the dead silence of our hostel. As we were starting our breakfast , everyone else had already started their days. I guess thats what you get from having a big one out in Barca. We chose the local beach over sight seeing as we were feeling s bit under the weather. it wasn't hard to spot the topless women on the beach. Despite tradition, we did not join in. The beach had pebbles and crushed shells imbedded underneath the waters surface. The water was freezing at first, but once your body got used to it , it was so refreshing ! We ate toasted chicken burritos for lunch at the cafe on the beach. A rickshaw then took us around the streets of Barcelona to ciutdella park. It was huge and so green with tall trees. We took photos at the gali fountain i think its called, that you could also walk behind and look out from it. Tapping came from one side of the park , and we noticed three men tap dancing inside a little wooden dome. They were so talented! We headed for home to get ready to go out for dinner with Carly and Tess our Aussie mates. 4 aussie guys also tagged along who knew the two girls. We went to a spanish restaurant close by the beach called port vell. Bek and I wanted to try tapas. It was expensive but so delicious. It came out in a massive cooking frypan with heavily flavoured rice mixed with prawns, oysters, little clams and calamari. We squirted lemon on the exotic seafood that tasted amazing. It was so rich and interesting to try all the seafood. The boss gave us complimentary champagne in long glasses , it was so nice. The others were going out so we had to give it a miss and say goodbye to our friends. We got coffee at a random Indian cafe , it was so strong. We then headed for home and fireworks started going off down near the beach. It was a nice end to our stay in Barcelona. xoxo Alice
