Well, it was nice and easy getting to koh Phi Phi, our first island stop, just an hour and a half on a boat from Krabi and me and girls stepped off at the port.
I wasn't quite prepared for what I was confronted with- there's nothing in the guidebooks about accommodation because everything was destroyed in the Tsunami and the lonely planet had 2 hostel choices. We arrived however, on a built up island full of cafe's and a million guys trying to get you to stay at their resort. I just can't believe it got like this in less than 2 years but I guess its quite impressive.
We quibbled for ages over which place to choose and finally decided so were taken on motorbikes to Garden Home. My room is so amazingly cool inside and the bathroom is down some little steps at the backdoor in a sort of jungle, its awesome.
Me, Emma and Emily went to explore and all ate Pad Thai by the sea which was very tasty. We then wandered around the pretty smelly streets and checked out the shopping but I resisted the temptation coz I'm flat broke now and have to spend as little as possible.
I'm really fond of the view out to sea here which is almost in a bay, but its not the island paradise I had in mind. Looking forward to going out later when it cools down but every bar seems to have a boxing ring and as a Thai kick Boxer i'm sure Oppy will want to join in-not sure I could watch that!
Starting now to work on my tan but don't want to burn before my thai massage so taking it easy, still got 7 weeks left for that.
