For want of a better picture...
And I have plenty of great photos from today's adventures too, but they are all currently needing recovery from 1/2 of my SD cards which are currently having a paddy. I stayed longer in Nelson than I planned because it was awesome and it meant I could let Sabina, Nancy and Charlie catch me up. Very exciting. I have surprised then a few times with unexpected texts and just turning up; great fun.
Me, Mattao and Jule went to the beach on bikes today. We walked along and walked back and say and chilled and drew our houses in the sand. Jule's is the most exciting with balconies AND a terrace!Me and Alex then took the bikes out and did a great ride up the river, admired the hills if trees and came back. You have to wear helmets whatever track/field/marshmallow encrusted bridle way you cycle on in NZ or you can get fined. The advantage is that it keeps your hair from messing up, until you take it off I guess... On the way back down the river we stopped to throw rocks in and got technical with the noises we could make, and patterns of the jet streams that followed them in.
Shortly after we (x4) made our way up the hill that the centre of NZ conveniently sits on. Fabulous views. Tough decent, especially in flimsy falling apart sandals. That evening after our $5 Pizza Hut pizzas we (Mattao, Alex, Jule) chilled in the Queen (?) park which had a nice little pond ad fountain and just enjoyed each others company as all but Jule were leaving tomorrow.
Jule, whom I learned today has a cartmel coloured car, is staying to get a job etc and stay a while. We texted on and off until the day I left New Zealand, how romantic. Last I heard she has a bar job and is working for stay in a hostel. She did put her name down in Pizza Hut for a driver position which I encouraged and followed to tease he about.
Nelson is up there with Hiroshima, Luang Prabang and Hoi An as favourite places so far.
