I went I Canada for 3 nights and split my time between Vancouver on the mainland and a peninsula on Vancouver island where Victoria the capital is.
Sweaty latte... I took up a challenge called the grouse grind which is a tough challenging uphill climb which people time themselves on. I did it in 50 mins which is 10 under average, the unofficial record is 23 mins. Consequently I was incredible sweatified and when I got to the top, since I couldn't take in the view due to fog I had a chai latte and gf fudge brownie. I sipped the latte and thought, ooh this really does have extra flavour ... Actually it's kind of salty, weird but nice ... I licked my lip to find I was tasting my own sweat with the delightful beverage. Mmmmm!
The photo is of the trail, I was unsure if the barrier was there to protect the track or catch exhausted climbers. The challenge was similar to the many steps i climbed near Krabi but very contrasted; snow but no view/epic view but boiling hot.
Also this day I took a bazillion busses to see Lynn canyon which was fantastic. And free! Beautiful typical Canada, but no bears. There was also a flip flop in the collection of wood at he bottom one I the dramatic waterfalls which mad is chuckle.
Strange thing in the ferry the next day. A sale in a vending machine. Hawaii sweet onion crisps. Odd. Got lost trying to find a cider brewery(?) because the 3 tourist maps disagreed with scales and missed out significant roads for direction finding. I never found it and just got the bus straight to Victoria which was lovely. Loads of water planes, nice streets and chilled as ice. Saw a butterfly documentary at the national geographic IMAX. I would like to return properly to Canada. I like the British touch!!!
