Hey!
Well you will be glad to know that since the last journal entry we found the night porter and got back into our room! The next morning we got up early to go to Featherdale Wildlife Park which took us most of the day to actually get there on trains and buses! It was a really nice place though, very interactive with the animals! We got to stroke Koalas and feed kangaroos and wallabies! they were all so cute, i was feeding two baby kangaroos and they started fighting over the food and then had a massive fight with eachother, it was a bit scary, we dont know if they were just playing! We have it all on video though so you can see when we get back! We also saw some fairy penguins which are the cuttest things ever! Also a Tasmanian Devil amongst other things! On the way back to the centre of Sydney we stopped off at Darling Harbour which was a very beautiful place with lots of nice cafes, then we headed hom to eat where we were staying in Collaroy! The next day we got up early again to go to the famous Bondi beach! We were a little worried about the weather as it was a bit cloudy in Sydney and it was our last chance to go so we just went any way! When we got there it was all blue sky and absolutely boiling so we were very lucky! We just relaxed most of the day and watched loads of surfers! It is a beautiful beach, very chilled out, so we are glad that we went! We have loads of pictures to show you but i have forgotten my camera cable! We still have the Melbourne and Canberra photos to put up too! Anyway we got the bus home after a relaxing day and chilled on our balcony, did i say we moved rooms? Our first room smelt really bad so on the second day Alex complained and they moved us to a much nicer room with a balcony! We bought some bers in to save money and just chilled and wrote in our journals! We had to have an early night as we got up at 6am the next day to go to the Blue Mountains! I went in a denim mini skirt and flip flops and didnt realise that we would actuallb trekking through swamps! i slid over on some sandstone o the first trek but didnt get too dirty thankfully. We viewed the mountains and the gauge from many different view points and saw some gogous waterfalls, and also saw the Three Sisters which have a really cool aboriginal myth to them. Im not going to explain as it will take too long, you can find out when you go and visit! We then did more trekking as fa down the gauge as we could go, very slippy, dirty, and lots of insects! We ended up in a rain forest for a bit , and then got a train ride back up which was more like a rollercoaster! It is apparently the steepest train incline in the world and you all sit in and it shoots up backwards, and go through a cave so you cant see anything but you know there will be loads of spiders in there! It was a long day but very nice, we were very impressed with the mountains, and the air there is actually blue! Very picturesque, we have some better pictures than the one on this website! gain we went to Dalring Harbour for tea and then headed home.
The next day we headed to Newcastle on the bus, and guess what film they played? How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days!!! I was so pleased so the bus journey flew by for me! We didnt have any accommodation booked in Newcastle but we had the names of a few places to go to when we arrived! when we got off the bus there was another who got picked up by someone she had arranged accommodation ith and he asked us if we had anywhere to go, we said no, so just got in his minibus and headed to the hostel! It is in a really good location and seems like a nice place! Alex and i have a massive 14 bed dorm to ourselves, some irish were in theire but they left really early this morning! They say there might be more people coming tonight too as it is a friday! Anyway last night we went out with all the other backapackers to a bar on the beach where our hostel got free dinner and entered the quiz, we didnt win though! Then we got a free ride back to the hostel by the hostel bus driver, who is American. When we got back it was fairly early so me, Alex, and another couple w met, Mo and Becki, headed back out to a pub about 5mins away! We got really drunk and had a really good night chatting to different people including a giant Russian guy, who we have a picture of so you can see how tall he is! Then drunkenly headed home to bed! Woke up late today had lunch and think we are going to head to the beach! Please keep in touch and write on the wall! Miss you guys! lots of love sammi and Alex xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
