Arrived knackered after a 12 hour flight - but we're on holiday so who cares. Picked up the hire car and drove to Simons Town - through several townships en route - what a country of contrasts - serious money and serious poverty - cheek by jowl.
Arrived at our house on the hill in Simons Town to be given the low down on how to set and disarm the burglar alarm. We were fine until Gill - the agent - said, 'oh, and if you need to, just press this button on the alarm remote control and you'll get an instant armed response' - mmm - not something we expected but I can understand why when you see how some people live here.
Simons Town is beautiful - small but everything we need - and if we feel homesick we just need to go to the local fish and chip shop and then to the pub :-)) it's all here.
