Aim's in Africa
"HEY DIDDLE, DIDDLE"
have now started working at the creche, its totally strange that its just in someone's garage! there's 37 kids ranging from about 1 to 6 (they go to school at 7 over here! they really are all great but understand little english and i know to swazi to speak to them! taught then the hooky cooky (however you spell it!) and they thought it was some much fun! Start next week though to teach them about the body! i'm really lucky where i'm at, although i'm the only volenteer there are two teachers and reasonable facilities unlike where nicola and steph are working which is at a church that doesn't even have 1 pencil! one of my teachers has invited me to go to the location on a weekend and meet her family and friends and see how she lives! the volenteers at the school have invited thier teachers round for tradional english meal in a few weeks! don't ask what the location is eveyone refers to it as that all we know is that it is where we work! the people have been really friendly and its weird to be in a minority and be stared at, but we are perfectly safe!
the weather has been very hot until late yesterday when i bit of a storm came. it blew over the door canopy and came smashin throught the kitchen window! very cloudy today, can't see the tops of some of the mountains!
went on a walk yesterday up round the mountains, as i only work 7.30 till 12 so have free afternoons! we went round the top of a mountain and through a 700m old mining cave where in the pitch black we came across a sleeping porcupine! and bats at the other end! we got really good veiws though!
food is really nice not what i'd expected at all! i'm addicted to mangoes as we have 2 trees in our garden full of them! everything is also really cheap! 1 pound for a vodka and coke, converse shoes at 25 pounds it unbelievable!
