After some of the best skiing this season while down at TC in Wanaka... the entire south island has been shut for the last 5 days. This is MENTAL. Nothing and i mean nothing is open . Mt Hutt - too much snow and windy . And no doubt by the time the road is clear we will have no snow left as it will rain or it shall all been blown into a pit miles backcountry where we cant get too... sound familiar. Scottish skiing. How can you possibly justify shutting for 5 hole days.. and leave your poor staff stuck in methven with only ashvegas .. which is far from glamerous and christchurch earthquake central at the moment to entertain themselves. There are only so many movies in the world .. Been down in queens this week, which again did not fail to dissapoint, despite Remarks being shut both days that we wanted to ski. Wanaka was good though, really like it there and would 100% go back and do a season their rather than Queens or Methven! Was seeing off two of the guys who game out to do their L1s and ended up staying here for the season. Both from like an hour from home which is cool. Forcast isnt looking very good for the next few days either so could be a lot .. and i mean alot of down time. Atleast i worked lots the week before i headed to Queens. . otherwise i would not be in a good place. Not long now till im off skis for a little while anyway which will be good to get home .
