Hey all!
Well, the adventure's almost over. I have less than a week, but not to worry, that hasn't slowed me down at all!
Yesterday was up to go run and lift weights in the gym with Don Jorge (and now my arms feel like jello) and then we hit poolside. I thought I'd be fine... I bought spray sunscreen (SPF 30 in the hopes of getting a little brown with no red) and applied liberally. We then lounged for less than 2 hours in sun and shade both. I read, napped, and talked with some folks from Argentina and from here in Mexico.
About 4 we headed up to the room, changed, and hit a restaurant called Texas Ribs. Not my favorite (as it's imported gringo food), but the family wanted to go, and I wanted to treat them to a meal after all they have done for me. Think Tony Romas only not as good and just as expensive.
After that, we were headed out for some shopping. In the bathroom I realized that my stomach hurt. I lifted up my shirt and what do you know... CRISPY FRIED! Everywhere I had hair, the spray sunscreen stuck to my hair and not my skin! Needless to say it looked ridiculous! I told the fam that the stupid bottle should come with a warning to those of us that actually have some hair on our bodies! GEEZ!
Then it was off to do some shopping. We were in search of some shoes for the wedding. I needed some black shoes to go with my navy suit (who knew I would need a suit!!!!). I forgot to mention how hard it is to find shoes in my size (no really, ask Sarah), and we went to a total of nearly a dozen different stores looking for a style of shoe I liked that was in my size. At last we finally found a pair that fit the bill! Don Jorge asked the gal at the place what the name of it was. I thought it was funny because right behind her in big letters it said "Queen." He said, "It wouldn't happen to be Salvation, would it?" We all died laughing!
From there, we grabbed a taxi and headed up to the Quebrada. For more info and pics, try:

Needless to say it was quite a sight. It wasn't the first time I had gone to see the cliff divers, but it wasn't any less spectacular! Our perch was from the Miradores hotel, known for it's famous celeb. visitors as well as the amazing view of the cliffs. We had a few drinks in the restaurant overlooking the place as we watched the cliff divers do their act. The highest point they jump from is 110 feet, and the maximum depth of that part of the ocean is 13 feet. They travel about 55 MPH and hit the water with about 10x the usual force. Not to mention that most of them didn't look over 20.
Well, we got home last night with enough time to check my e-mail and then crash. I was so wiped from all the things we did, I didn't get up until after 10 and completely skipped the gym. It was a long day!
We went over to Starbucks this afternoon, went to see Harry Potter (in Spanish; just as enjoyable) and had a great meal which included flaming bananas for dessert! YUM! I think we're all starting to feel the drag of so much activity so tonight is going to be cards out on the balcony and early to bed.
Well, keep in touch and I'll write more later...
