Ok so we arrived into LAX airport in LA at 1.15pm on thursday, we found it very strange that we had just spent the entire day in fiji and were now reliving the day a second time.We knew a girl from our Hostel in Fiji who was staying at the same hostel 'Banana Bungalow west Hollywood' so could get a taxi with her, split the cost which was great. LA was freezing compared to the scorching heat back in Fiji. We arrived at our hostel and realised we liked it so booked 3 extra nights there. We didnt do too much apart from take a short walk around to find a supermarket. We came across a farmers market and had dinner, we then went to look at K-Mart its great, cheap cheap cheap:) just what we like to hear:). We got back to the hostel checked our mail and went to bed.
We didnt wake up till late the next day, well i didnt thats for sure. Jet lag i guess. We got some breakfast and took a walk into Hollywood...an hour and a half or so later we finally reached the beginning of the boulevard. And yes it was raining, all we had was our hoodies, that got soaked and once slightly dry just made you really cold. we saw the Kodak theatre with all the preps for the Oscars. Nathan wanted me to get him a picture of Martin Scorcesses star and typical it was by the entrance for the oscars so could get a picture from the distance as the man wouldnt take one for us. sad man!!!!!! we had dinner at a place called UWink and you order all your food by touch screen and whilst waiting for the grub you can play games, was very cool. At around 5pm we qued to get tickets for the Jimmy Kimmel show - 6.00pm came and we finally got in, must add we were freezing and i know you'd think buy something warm, but on a travellers budget in LA we couldnt find anything worth getting at a cheap price. We watched the Jimmy show with Guests Johnny Knoxville and Felicity Helfer and some country band before getting the bus back to the hostel.
Today we went to Universal Studios, we were impressed, but im guessing florida has the better one. However we did get to see the Desperate Housewives street on the tour so i was very impressed. No cast though due to it being the weekend. We got to see so many sets its hard to remember the ones we did. We got taken past the plane crash for war of the worlds and it was incredible they used an actual jumbo sized plane! went on 3d and 4d rides well not rides but fun. ADam went on the Jurassic park ride and mummy. and we also saw how they use special effects. Overall it was a nice Valentines day out. and it didnt rain:) we got picked up at 6pm and were so tired when back we didnt do alot lol. Adam gave me a very beautiful necklace and earrings set that id seen back in Brisbane, that id later said i wouldnt buy lol told him off as he didnt need to, but its lovely:)
Didnt do so much the next two days, went to find the Hollister shop and ended walking over 2hrs to find it, walked into Beverly hills and the price of some things there is just stupid, i cannot belive how much someone would pay when you can get the same for cheaper elsewhere!! put the money to good use at least!!! we went to a place called the grove and the shopping street was set up like a movie set.
Thursday we got the bus out of LA and onto our next point Santa Barbara xxx
