Adam and Charlotte's Great Escape.
Yesterday (Saturday) we decided to go and explore Dunedin's Peninsular which is renowned for its wildlife and has the only Castle in New Zealand on it. However we didn't go and see the Castle because you have to pay just to drive up the drive to view it and from the leftlet it didn't look very impressive. It was more like a country house than a castle. Nevertheless we went on two trips, one was a trip round a sheep farm looking at the beautiful views and looking at fur seals and there pups on a private conservation area. We also was expecting to see yellow-eyed penguins on a private beach but being this time of the year they were all out feeding. Being these penguins are so rare and NZ is one of the only places in the world to see them, we took another trip later in the day around Penguin Place. This was a network of tunnels and hides and we waited for about an hour for the penguins to amerge from the sea. It was well worth the wait although we only viewed them from a distance it was still a good experience watching them woddling across the beach.
Today the weather is a bit rainy and grey before we left Dunedin we walked up the worlds steepest street. Then we did the drive back to Queenstown to stop a night before heading to the West Coast.
Hope yoy enjoyed the read
