Yesterday we set off from CVNP in the evening to drive to Elkhart, IN. The plan was to visit the RV Hall of Fame and Battle Creek Michigan.
We decided instead of spending the night in an Indiana rest area or the parking lot of the RV Hall of Fame, we would stop at the last available service plaza 153 miles away -Indian Meadow on the Ohio Turnpike. The Ohio service plazas are one of the best we have experienced. They have a separate area for RVs with spacious sites and electric hook for a fee. They also provide a dump station.
After a restful night we drove the rest of the way (83 miles) to our destination. The RV Hall of Fame is a place I have been wanting to visit. It's not far from the highway and would make a good break stop on a road trip, but we are never in this area at a good time to visit. It was cool to see old RVs and how things changed from the early versions and also how much is the same since about the past 50 years or so.
Due to a late start in the morning and the distance we had to cover to get there, it was late in the afternoon by the time we finished at the museum. We found a restaurant to have dinner and then drove 165 miles straight to Detroit area instead of making a stop in Battle Creek.
Gil wanted to see the football game, so we stopped at a Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the game. I went in with him, but had to call it a night sometime around 10 PM. I have been doing most of the driving, so I was really tired. I went to the RV to sleep until the game finished.
We then drove about 9 miles to a Walmart where we spend that night. Next is The Henry Ford..
