Hi All
I can not believe the swimming is all over! I have been watching more of the swimming in the last few days and I have even seen and spoken to some of the Great Britain swimming and cycling Paralympians, such as Sascha Kindred and Dervis Konuralp (Swimmers) and Jody Cundy (Cycling) as they have come into the stands during some of the swimming sessions.
The atomosphere in the swimming sessions has been amazing and they have always been full to capcity. It has been a great experience although at times I have felt for the swimmers especially some of the visually impaired swimmers who have been disqualified because of the noise in the 'water cube' which has meant that the athletes have not heard the starting signal so have gone to early or in one case a swimmer did not leave the blocks when everyone else did on the starting signal. In that case the race was re-run. It was great to be a part of such an amazing atomosphere but disappointing when people were not quite for the start of races.
All in all, though it has been an amazing experience and a very enjoyable one even if it has been very hard work at times and tiring! But hey I like a challenge in life! I am going to the closing ceremony tomorrow evening and then I fly home very early on Thursday morning and all being well I should arrive back at Gatwick at about 7.30pm.
I will add more photos and maybe some videos of the closing ceremony when I get home.
I hope that you have enjoyed my blog!
Regards
Zoe
